gas costs vary a lot and have been crazy for the past two weeks or so since eth has been going crazy. i think its network traffic dependent. try every 5 mins ish to see what sort of range of prices its at. when i was minting stuff a while ago it was like 5-10 bucks.

I don’t think it’s about the value strictly it’s more about the network bandwidth / traffic but yeah it’s not great rn
Supposedly the network is getting a massive overhaul to be 1000x more efficient but it seems really far off still

Yeah it’s been about a year off since 2017 I feel. There’s a lot of stuff people are working on with the platforms themselves in addition to eth/other blockchains but where it’s at rn people should definitely hold off from minting excessive amounts of stuff
