    If you want the right to speak without fear of being shamed or shunned then straight up, just straight forwardly, you’re opposed to free speech. Democracy and openness is the rowdy one where we’re all free to annoy and despise each other. You want the other thing.

    The fucking New York Times does it again. The EDITORIAL BOARD for Christ’s sake. There is absolutely no such thing as a “fundamental right” to voice your opinions in public “without fear of being shamed or shunned.” This is lunacy.
