People really do not want to shop at a place where lawlessness reigns.

Equating examples of shoplifting with widespread lawlessness is how we actually get fascism. Relax man.

Widespread open shoplifting is by definition lawlessness.

Your unwillingness to look below the surface indicates how little interest you have in solving the problem.

The problem exists because people know they can get away with it without consequence. Why would they not steal, knowing they could make good money clearing out shelves and reselling things?

Most people turn to crime due to lack of any opportunity to make an honest living wage. Shoplifting is already illegal and it seems your asking for an increased police state to better enforce said law. Weird for someone who was posting warnings about fascism like an hour ago.

Just enforce the laws that exist, obviously. There are places with greater poverty that do not have such blatant theft

What do you think happens when there is the perception of open lawbreaking and lawlessness? People rush to the first crazy person promising “law & order”
