And drug dealers! 👍 And burglars, thieves, robbers, people who commit violent assault, attempted murderers, actual murderers, burglars fleeing the crime scene who kill pedestrians while driving stolen cars under the influence of dangerous drugs, anyone who stabs the elderly...

Do you have any evidence that the DA's office is prosecuting major violent crimes less than it used to? Or are you just frothing at the mouth at the idea of mass incarceration going away?

How dare you! Do you think ANYONE else would have released Robert Newt after he got caught with an unregistered ghost assault rifle that had been used previously in an attempted murder so he - get this - finally commit murder?! Only me, baby. Only me.😎https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2021/05/19/update-san-francisco-potrero-hill-shootings-suspect-arrested-april-2nd-victim-identified/ …

Eye witnesses described the murderer as Samoan, a description that doesn’t fit Robert Newts. We should flinch when your post already declares Newts committed murder. We shouldn’t just tag any old black suspect, we need to tag the ones who fit the crime. That’s justice reform.

I’m sure he went into hiding because he was innocent. Don’t worry, I don’t care if he killed someone or not. I’ll place him in a diversion program, expunge the charges, and release him back onto the street. I’ll even return his assault rifle. That’s “restorative justice”! :D

No that’s not restorative justice. To be clear, that’s not what DA Boudin is doing. The DA is doing his job. If you have a problem with things like due process, you may not have a problem with racial profiling, George Floyd’s murder, mass incarceration. That’s what this is about.

Exactly. Freeing all the criminals and not prosecuting new crimes. Letting the malevolent prey upon the innocent without repercussion until civil society collapses allowing us to replace it with a totalitarian communist dictatorship. Make America Venezuela Instead!

Due process preserves democracy. DA is doing his job. KQED interview: DA Boudin never worked for Venezuelan government. Boudin article assessing Chavez term: he appreciates Chavez decreased poverty but criticizes Chavez concentration of power.

I know a bunch of people from Venezuela and Columbia, where refugees fled. Chavez destroyed the country. There are no stray dogs or cats in Caracas because the poor had to eat them to survive. People have no food. Most industry has collapsed. It's a tragedy.

I’m not an expert on Venezuela, defer to you. I do know that the long Chavez term ended in 2013, that Boudin is critical of Chavez, and that Boudin never worked for Venezuelan government. Venezuela does not belong in this conversation.

I can agree with that. It's not relevant here. Talk to some people from Venezuela or Cuba before heralding them as a success story.

I did not bring up Venezuela. The person attacking Chesa Boudin brought it up in the post to derail and deflect, see above. I’m glad you and I agree it is not relevant.
