It usually takes time before the channel icon updates, if it's still not updated until now, try a different browser to change and wait again. Let us know if this helps.

Okay so a different browser does seem to fix the problem but I don't want to have to use a different browser indefinitely. As of typing this tweet I am still experiencing the same issue on my preferred browser and if you can think of a different solution that would be great.
