Well first off the flu vaccine is actually 3 guesses as to the most likely strains in the next 12 months. Thats why its a new vaccine every year. If they get it wrong then you still get the flu. They are quite good at guessing, but influenza mutates rapidly, so only about 40%
I am fine with incentives for adults to take the flu vaccine... but just don't make their continuity in employment contingent on taking the flu vaccine. (can revisit in 10-20 years when more is known) /END

We require it at our hospital and primary care centers. If you see patients you need to be vaccinated-

Again, as I said earlier, I am fine with general hospital front line staff (and perhaps staff working in shared spaces). Because risk assessment. But it shouldn’t be blanket. What about physiotherapists working in a hospital dedicated to treating ABI? The client base risk matters

No not END. That is a very very selfish pov. If you are working with patients who already have compromised immune systems, why would you risk bringing them the flu, measles etc? The flu shot is not just about you.

Red Herring logical fallacy there. I am arguing against compulsory annual flu vaccinations being mandatory for *all* employees of the HSE... even the PostgreSQL DBAs who have ZERO contact with either patient or even the staff that are in contact with frontline staff.
