what doesn’t happen: cis kids being diagnosed as trans because they play with a toy that’s “for another gender” what does happen: trans ADULTS being told they’re “not really trans” because they didn’t play with the right toy as a child
yes many trans boys like cars. yes many trans girls like dolls. guess what, there’s also lots of trans girls who like cars and trans boys who like dolls, like there’s cis boys & girls who like either. gendering toys is marketing bs, not something to determine your kid’s gender.
I played with feminine toys all the time as a kid! As I got older I got embarrassed about it tho, and pretended I didn't like feminine things and tried to suppress that part of myself.
You played with the toys you were given? Faker!!!! Real trans kids would know from toddler-hood to sit in silent misery rather than touch an unapproved object.

Can't really dispute that, but c'mon man, people are dumb, both likely happen, but I can easily buy the latter happens more often.
the former doesn’t happen because getting a diagnosis for being trans, especially as a child, is hella hard. maybe a parent thinks “oh maybe my child is trans” but getting an actual diagnosis just because a child plays with the wrong toy literally doesn’t happen ever.

I would include trans teens in that. I know twitter character limited so it's implied but still. Trans teens getting told we're not trans until we're trans adults because we liked transformers or video games or TTRPGs
The basic assumption is ALWAYS "you are not actually trans, there is some other explanation". Which makes all these people "terrified" they're going to be "turned trans" all the more baffling
