  2. A real piece of computing history - Fortran punch cards containing program fixes for the Bankside power station in London - now the home of Modern. Floppy disk for scale! So far we've not been able to find any images of the actual machine, so our investigations continue!

  7. Have you ever stumbled across while clumsily trying to access Gmail? The domain is owned by a nice lady called Gail, whose husband registered it for her as a gift in 1996! She's kept the site as a brief, ad-free FAQ that makes an interesting read. :)

  8. in 1980, The Sinclair ZX80 personal computer was launched by Sinclair Research Ltd of Cambridge. It was the first computer (with a Qwerty keyboard) available to the British public that cost less than a hundred pounds!
