I promised to end mass incarceration. In 2020 we resentenced nearly 40 people who served decades in state prison. Overall, San Francisco's prison population fell by ~25%, and the jail population fell by ~40%. We are working to expand reentry planning to drive down recidivism.

Assault and burglary is up as well because you don’t believe it’s a “violent crime”. You need to be investigated immediately for failing to do your job.

It’s not violent crime. He’s doing exactly what we voted for him to do.

I missed the ‘assault’ part so allow me to correct myself. The dominant designation of ‘violent’ applies to assaults, not burgulary. My larger critique is that many fail to recognize strucal, racism, poverty, and many other things as also violent, nor are they prosecuted.

Thank you for the support. As I’ve said before, my office is focused on violent crime. We do not consider burglary to be a violent act... nor a criminal one.
