Today the Washington State Senate voted to abolish the death penalty. Republican leader Mark Schoesler voted to preserve it ... because he had "no trust in the judiciary" (to enforce life without parole). Yep, can't trust judges == we should *keep* the death penalty. 1/n

It has to pass the state house, and I think it will. The government has had a moratorium in place for years already. Interesting fact: I could be legally hanged in Washington State. Only state left with a gallows.
