Today the Washington State Senate voted to abolish the death penalty. Republican leader Mark Schoesler voted to preserve it ... because he had "no trust in the judiciary" (to enforce life without parole). Yep, can't trust judges == we should *keep* the death penalty. 1/n

Even here in Washington State, where Republicanism is somewhat tempered, the insane level of logic-defying stupidity it takes to embrace it is in very sharp relief. That's a staggering set of utterances. Where does it come from? 3/3
