Came across an oddity in the LINQ/Caesar wifi. Could hit http://neverssl.com without triggering the login page, but https got the lovely cert mismatch error and login.

@troyhunt? A never ssl website for captive portal auth on a WiFi connection that is ripe for person in the middle attacks? -
Yeah, kinda one of those necessary evils for captive portal auth though as you need something the provider can hijack and serve their own content on. I hope someone is working on a better way of doing this whole model...

Very nice idea. I always use 8.8.8.8. They don't run anything on port 80, but it's fast to type and does the job.
