@SolveDNS Some providers (UltraDNS, R53, more) use striped anycast. Never announce all NSes from one site in case there's a problem.

@colmmacc I believe CloudFlare also does something similar. But if you use AnyCast it should not make a difference in the average speed IMO. -
@SolveDNS If closest site is 10ms and 2nd closest is 20ms, naive avg will be 15ms, but real-world SRTT avg will be more like 11ms. - 2 more replies

@SolveDNS no difference to queries as resolvers pick the closest site, improves availability a lot, but would inflate an avg of all NSes.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
