Over and over I've heard the trope on podcasts that you can have a plumber over to your house for an emergency. Well right now we have a plumber over! Some 100 year old zinc piping finally gave way in the brunch hours.

I had this happen recently too, though with more damage. Was pleased to find that my home insurance and home warranty coverages were complementary and I only needed to pay a deductible for the former. Insurance covered immediate aftermath and rebuild, and warranty covered plumber

When you say zinc piping you mean galvanized pipe right? Unless you’re house was built with it in the 70’s, you’re well outside of the expected lifespan of that piping.
