It took me a few years to really internalize it, but I've come to believe that trying to be a better and more moral person, and being generous even with those who we profoundly disagree and are a threat, is genuinely ethical.

People are persuaded one by one, little by little, and often there's a lot of indoctrination to overcome, but contact helps. Not that evil shouldn't be fought too, it should, but being open and generous is not complicity, it can be the opposite.
