They're certainly in a strong position. Statistically England are probably still favorites, based on their strength. And yes, it is epic.

Sorry I only made it to one day international level of cricket proficiency. When someone asks me to explain test cricket, I just point them to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duckworth%E2%80%93Lewis%E2%80%93Stern_method … to distract them

I had no idea what "test cricket" was, so I looked up. From Wikipedia: "... test cricket is considered the game's highest standard." For somebody who grew up watching American sports, that's a complete opposite of what I expected...

Joe, T20 cricket is closer to baseball. Here’s an exciting match:https://youtu.be/MQSb1J9sodk

Test cricket lasts 5 days. Being bowled out for 85 after a 207 puts Ireland in a reasonably strong position. Because the scores are so low, and there are 4 days left, England only need to be +120 (one or 2 decent scores) - say 350 and then bowl Ireland out for 200 again to win.

Well what Ireland did this morning was epic. The manner which the English batsmen (4 who were in World Cup team) were dismissed without the pitch having any real demons was something to appreciate. We do not see these kind of upsets a lot, so each is special

They will probably not beat England but will put some dents in the confidence for upcoming Ashes series for sure!
