What about inter-region non-VPC peered traffic. Given that inter-region peering doesn't support v6?
-
All traffic between AWS regions uses the AWS backbone, and is protected with Lever Link Encryption.

so does this mean that traffic is now encrypted from one az to another az in the same region? But only if both ends use nitro?

Great to hear about other people working on network link encryption at this scale! I want to take Vita to a place where it can do 100G cluster-to-cluster traffic encrypion with ~1 node dedicated to traffic crypto only. All in OSS software(/hardware?) obviously.
