I don’t understand. Security professionals don’t need his pitch; he worked on/against Wassenaar to keep the USG from criminalizing vulnerability research. This FoxNews piece isn’t good, but it’s not like it’s a mystery why he was keynoting.https://twitter.com/dellcam/status/1141051830534922240 …

I’m confident that we share the same politics on this, think it was a mistake to invite in the first place, and respect people who would decide not to attend had he spoken.

If it's relevant to the audience and you respect that people would leave, that reads like not valuing everyone's ability to enjoy a shared experience. I know you know that reality often divides and further victimizes the leavers for not joining in and being part of the club.

Reproductive Rights aside, he voted several times against funding STEM programs for underrepresented minorities. How can you have a con that wants "diverse & inclusion" and your keynote speaker has DEFUNDED these programs? That's a TECHNICAL fact why he shouldn't have done it.

He voted along with every other Republican not to add an additional organization to the STEM education org chart we already have. I disagree with that vote, but it wasn’t a statement about diversity.
