Lyrics are community sourced; they don't come from the author or rights owner. Genius do not list the song-writers or publishers; this makes it harder for authors to even know their work is there.

Genius may license lyrics when a publisher contacts them, or sends a takedown, I don't know. But this clearly isn't the default. Look here: https://genius.com/Beoga-matthews-daughter-lyrics … . Do you see Ed Sheeran's name anywhere? he wrote that song!

This is *definitely* not good enough for me, no. Happy to clarify! Would love to see prominent author attribution, licensing, and royalties for 100% of the content.
