Operations people - if you drive, do you drive as a safely as you try to make changes? Or Is it like night and day. Are you a better operator or a better driver? Do you have driving operational tips? What are they? I'll reply with some of mine.

A classic: back into parking spaces, it's safer. It's easy to see if a space is clear before you park in it, and no-one is likely to suddenly get in your way. The opposite is true of the shared roadway, so be able to drive forwards into the roadway with a full view.

Obvious but under done: Don't tailgate, and leave plenty of space when stopping behind cars, they might roll back, especially if ti's a manual transmission.

Motorcyclist Addendum: Don't rely on "eye contact" to negotiate passage at an intersection or lane maneuver — they're not seeing you, anyway. Look at the tops of tires, they don't lie (still when moving). Assume the worst and adjust.
