I think that people do have things they want to keep secret for more than 25 years. But has there ever been a crypto algorithm that was still secure 25 years after its peak use?

RSA and DH have remained secure and common that whole time. Group sizes have increased, to keep pace with Moore's law, but even 25 years ago some people were using 4k and 8k keys. Problem is Quantum is the end of the road for that!
