True multi-vendor collaboration. When a single company releases an open source project, it feels like one employee is throwing it into public so they can grab it and continue their work once they change jobs without actually stealing code.

Inchoate idea: a high-level unified API for ~all of AWS. Radically simpler, common patterns rolled up into named abstractions, heavily biased towards 0-cost-at-idle.

Start owning and maintaining AWS related code in all the various projects (Kubernetes, External DNS, ..) - it's sad that you profit from (and even advertise) AWS-support in OSS projects but don't help with maintenance
