I thought the whole point was that Lambda was able to itself scale as needed...? So why the extra load balancer? /cc @simalexan

ALB is really acting as a HTTP(S) terminator in this case, and a request router. With ALB you can have instances, containers, on-prem IPs, and now Lambda all as target groups ... all on a common domain. Makes it easier to divide up your architecture and to migrate.

This is great. Any chance that the ALB can call the Lambda within the VPC or does it still need to go outside of the VPC? If not, hoping for PrivateLink for Lambda soon. Thanks!

From the blog post, I'd assume that this can work with both VPC and non-VPC functions. I'd like to know for sure though.
