Just another example of an immature political system, that it's Federal and State should make no difference. There is no reason for variations in electoral laws in a country except for partisan interests. It will always rob someone of their rights.https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1059834453730693128 …
The UK has pretty big differences across its regions too. NI, SCO, WA have PRSTV for local, and NI has that whole D'hondt system. EU has list/PR. Also unelected lords, a useless Monarch who's happy to let the country plunge, and a minority-elected government pulling the gallows.

For the same level of election the rules, apart from NI (which well it's just NI), are the same. The local elections are skewed because of devolution. The Lords don't count in an election system and I wouldn't want them to be.

And the actual rules of voting remain the same. It's horribly true that the electorate rights can differ. Residents regardless of citizenship can vote in local elections. I think that's still true in NI. Commonwealth and British Citizens can vote in all elections if Resident.

And it's like the oldest functioning democracy!

Iceland might object even with the Danish interregnum, maybe the Isle of Man as well. But what can you expect when the whole independence thing was a Tory plot and that after the second President they thought of inviting Prince Georgie to come do it.
