Exactly. How can I hope to have my children live close to me? Rural Missouri is hemorrhaging jobs. We can only have school 4 days a week. Our hospitals are closing. But the Missouri GOP lives in an alt-reality.

Oh, it already is. “Missouri resident deaths reached a record high for the sixth consecutive year” in 2018, with life expectancy continuing to decline despite an apparent turnaround (we'll see) at the national level. Why? TERRIBLE POLICIES.

I know everyone has a lot going on, but in the spirit of transparency... I could use some help. 🙃 This is going to be a heavy year for us - we're trying to release the covers album this spring and will be recording our next album of originals at more or less the same time.

So they spend money on the wall, which Congress very explicitly did not appropriate for, and block money for clean energy, which it did. This is a fairly serious breakdown in constitutional order. And we’re gonna see a lot more....

Some bad news. Yesterday, the Missouri Supreme Court rejected my challenge to dark money in Missouri. Since 2017, I've been investigating dark money corruption in our state. The fight is not over, and this election just became even more important. 1/14

Time for my semi-monthly rant about how it’s really irresponsible of to put staff at-risk by refusing to cancel committees even when session is cancelled due to weather. Grateful to work for folks who make me stay home.

2/ But to claim that the Ripping Episode is THE WORST THING EVER TO HAPPEN IN CONGRESS? . . . . Take a little walk with me. (I just noticed that I'm wearing two pairs of glasses)

1/ Okay folks. A quick-and-dirty thread on behaving badly in Congress. <clears throat> The outrage at the Ripping Episode at the end of the last night is something to see. Yes. It had power. Yes. It sent a message that is sure to inflame some and delight others.

After seeing the absolute sh*tshow that took place in Iowa this week, Missouri’s SOS Jay Ashcroft says “Hey, that looks like a good idea!”. Voter participation in Missouri’s primary is approximately = 39% Voter participation in Iowa’s caucuses = 16%

I was impressed by the way Warren and Klobuchar handled the lack of results. They put their egos aside and gave speeches focused on the issues and the next race. To me they acted like serious, mature grownups.

I dunno, I suspect Rep. Preston Brooks beating Sen. Charles Sumner nearly to death with his cane on the Senate floor in 1856 was worse.
