    Big statement from a former PM. Unclear whether opposition parties can coalesce around this perceived threat when Abe is the defense hawk.

    In fairness, I refuse to get my oil filter changed by anyone who hasn't read the Citizens United decision front to back.

    As one Trump voter said to me: "You media assholes are always telling us how to live, but you can't change a fucking oil filter."

    Will say again that for all its [many] failings, TPP would have meant US leadership in the region without involving carrier battle groups.

    Significant: deploying (USS Nimitz) to Western Pacific, meaning there'll soon be three carrier-led strike forces in region.
