When developer discounts still existed on hardware, I ordered my Mac Pro off my .Mac ID and not my dev id and they still knew it was me.

They provided warnings to the other account and not HIS account. Nice. Kind of left that out of your explanation Apple.

So many better ways to handle this. Apple hurt their customers too. Apple could have given a temporary restoration until it was worked out.

The whole "You have to write a blog post absolving us of wrong doing before we'll restore your account" is very mafia-ish.

"Work with Apple to unlink the accounts"? What? That's just a state of mind. There is nothing formally continuing to link the accounts.

I hope Apple PR feels embarrassed over this but I'm guessing their next move will be getting pissy about being recorded.
