for those who arent on Jewish Twitter: A prominent member of the online Jewish community, a WW named Ariel Sobel, created a sock puppet account pretending to be a Black antiZionist woman, from which she sent rape threats at herself to make herself look like a victim of Black Jewshttps://twitter.com/Jaccuse_org/status/1206627789627154432 …
She got caught in part bc she linked her cell phone number to both accounts. She also tweeted from the wrong account a couple times. Some folks presented her with this (+more) irrefutable evidence—at which point she deleted her main account, instead of owning up to her actions.
So, after her plan to vilify Black leftist Jews as violent antisemitic rapists imploded, she deleted her main account and left the sock puppet up, disappeared for a little bit, and came back a few months later, at which point she proceeded to **ACT LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED**.
Several white Jews (esp white Zionist Jews) have defended her actions, and even more have welcomed her back into the Jewish community with open arms, and given her a platform by publishing her work in Jewish publications; just completely ignoring the Evonne Schwartz Incident.
She’s never said a damn thing about it. She’s just waiting for everyone to forget about what she did: that Ariel Sobel used her white womanhood to lie and to play victim in an attempt to demonize Jews of color in one of the most vile, historically violent ways she could.
But despite what she did, she’s still getting paid & she’s still getting bylines.
So, this is a thread just letting her know that we haven’t forgotten what she did, and letting the publications know that we haven’t forgotten their role in enabling her either.
