This is the second time I've tried to play Destiny 2 (I finished the campaign the first time around, maybe 2 years ago) and everything about this game is so incredibly obtuse and mystifying to me. If Halo was perhaps too simple, Destiny goes so far in the other direction.. 😖

and just so that I'm not singling Destiny out, Battlefield 2042 (except the Portal mix&match mode, which basically lets you recreate Bad Company 2) has the whole "let's make this *super* complex" self inflicted wound as well:

Hey Jeff, big fan of destiny here, it can be overwhelming at first and probably there's a lot of work the team needs to do, but my advice to make it better is: Finish the Witch Queen campaign is honestly amazing
