I still get surprised that “one function per file” is clearly unnecessary but “one component per file” is somehow a common practice!

The most common React component anti-pattern I see is not using children for composition. One telltale sign is passing a component in as a prop:

A card component accepting a content prop that is another component.
The same card component but now using children to rendering the component that was previously passed in as a prop.

Personal space is different in other countries. I still don't like being too close to human strangers though.

It's important to be able to convey an intention.

Nodding, bowing, smiling... basically just being polite helped a lot!

It's rude to point in Japan, so now I'm used to directing attention with an open palm.

First day back after a 2-week tour of Japan and Korea! It's really nice to be able to have conversations with other humans again. That said, I think I now better understand how important body language and tone actually are. You can communicate quite a bit with both.

Why we start multiple projects and never finish them. Well you might make fun of yourself for that. But it isn’t funny. Because you are doing things in reverse. JFYI the natural order of things is when you get excited </after> a project is completed.

TODO doesn’t mean you actually intend to do something. It’s a marker for the next person that the logic was left unfinished and they shouldn’t be surprised by missing corner cases or strange code structure.

From now on, all sandboxes with React 16.9.0 or later inside will have React Fast Refresh enabled by default! 😄 React Fast Refresh allows you to get near-instant feedback for code changes in your components. Eg. hooks state is now properly preserved on changes! 🔥
