I love this editor and this is a really cool feature, but i worry that it's going to get bloated, the more you add. There is reasons I use VSCode and there is reasons I use Visual Studio.

You can install and use the C++ extension in a remote environment so there isn't anything special that needs to happen for that!

For situations where you can't have docker locally: can you use container+ssh extensions combined? (containers running on remote vm)

I use SSHFS to mount the virtual machine or server's files as a local filesystem, and then browse and edit with Code. SSHFS is available on Linux, Mac and even Windows. No plugin needed. But it's always good to have options I suppose.

The Remote SSH extension should scale better than SSHFS. Plus it unlocks things like running and debugging, as well as language extensions running on the side where the code lives (which likely means better language support).
