    All students should be safe in their schools. Kendrick was a hero, but he shouldn’t have had to be. If 16 and 17-year-olds are facing down gunmen in their schools, they deserve to vote for their own safety.

    Kendrick Castillo, 18, lunged after one of the gunmen from yesterday’s , giving his life to save countless of his classmates. This brave member of the robotics club sadly was killed just days before his graduation. Our heroes deserve life.

    As Black people and people of color, we often drive through the city and see names of presidents like Adams or Washington, who neither looked like us, nor had our best interests at heart. This historic renaming gives people the necessary motivation to keep the movement going!
