Fundamental attribution error - we judge others by their actions and ourselves by our intentions.

If we see a stranger driving like an idiot, we assume they're an idiot.
If we see a friend driving like an idiot, we assume they had a bad day, or didn't get enough sleep.
Maybe not the best example but you get the point
