WATCH: Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)'s BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) successfully dispersed SEVEN FOREIGN FISHING VESSELS at the vicinity waters off Marie Louise Bank situated 147 nautical miles off El Nido, Palawan on 30 June 2021.

The foreign vessels monitored via radar and automatic identification system (AIS) were five Chinese ships and two Vietnamese ships.

Said PCG vessel utilized Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) to conduct radio challenge to said vessels, in accordance with the PCG Manual on Rules on the Use of Force within the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Afterwards, BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) checked on the condition of 34 Filipino fishermen on board F/B XIROXIRA from San Jose, Occidental Mindoro that was also monitored by the PCG at the vicinity waters off Marie Louise Bank.

The Filipino fishermen said they were able to conduct normal fishing operations in the past two weeks without any untoward incidents at sea.
