Something not right here. How can you be doing work on a huge 800 year old timber structure and not have extensive fire prevention measures in place?

I think that unlike a modern building there might have been much more concerns about any measures that would defile it's authentic structure. What i've heard is that they were working carefully, but they might have underestimated the situation. Or maybe it was a cost issue.
