A recent UN report says more than 10,000 people were killed, 720,000 fled, and Myanmar's military carried out mass rapes, murders, and set fire to villages. The country's de-facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, has rejected the mission and its findingshttps://cnn.it/2J2E0kc

The village of Inn Din used to have a total population of around 7,000, 90% of whom were Rohingya. Now, there is nothing left of the Rohingya or their homes. The Buddhist areas remain untouched -- and villagers blame the Rohingya for the crackdown https://cnn.it/2J2E0kc pic.twitter.com/L1JcTfE4DL

5,000 Rohingya refugees are trapped in a makeshift camp in 'No Man's Land,' a 1-kilometer strip between Myanmar and Bangladesh. They’re too scared to go home without guarantees of their safety, and justice for what they call a “genocide” https://cnn.it/2J2E0kc pic.twitter.com/kZld9qhjZw

But Myanmar officials claim “genocide never happened in our country,” and say they want some of the Rohingya who fled to come back. This camp at the border has been built to house any returning refugees -- but so far, only 11 people have passed through https://cnn.it/2J2E0kc pic.twitter.com/WrBL0AHvQV

That’s because Rohingya fear if they return to camps in Myanmar, they will never be allowed to leave. It’s happened before -- following violence in 2012, thousands of Rohingya were relocated to ‘temporary’ camps. But nearly 130,000 people are still there https://cnn.it/2J2E0kc pic.twitter.com/QJz6PR3hcg

Rohingya refugees fear the Myanmar military and police who would be in charge of repatriation are some of the same people the UN says carried out the genocide. With no hope of returning to their original villages, they're stuck in a horrific stalemate https://cnn.it/2J2E0kc pic.twitter.com/IErF3xxR45

They're killing Muslims which is an atrocity! Unfortunately, since America has decided we're not going to care about human rights abuses you can expect to see more of this all over the world
