And if they don't? They're fired? For refusing to pay homage to a song?

You’re missing the point. It isn’t about a song. It’s bigger than that. It’s what the song represents.

I understand the feeedom to protest. I also understand that employers have the right to safeguard their businesses. The fact is that the anthem protests are threatening their business...they had the right to act in the best interest of their businesses

The NFL is filled with idiots. Hope they like empty benches during the anthem.
-
Exactly: the NFL is a business, but we are the customers: don’t watch/go/buy their product.

You know, if the players were kneeling in memory of fallen soldiers would people still have a problem with it? NO That just goes to show you the level of inequality in this country and the hypocrisy of racism hidden behind patriotism. It’s not the kneeling it’s the reason for it.

They are expressing their opinion on social issues, by "taking the knee". So, that rule is unconstitutional. I really do hope, they will not stay in the locker room, and that ALL players will "take the knee", in solidarity, as it is a legitimate cause for all, to better society.
-
I realize, it is easy for me to say to do so. But it makes me angry, that this freedom of expression, isn't taken seriously, because the ussues are véry serious.

Black players should stand for National Anthem. Too many African Americans served and died (with little to no admiration once back home) to make a better day for succeeding generations.

I'm with "Kap" 100%. They're blackballing that young man for speaking out against injustice.
-
He was a back up quarterback at best that was a cancer to any team that he touched. This is a business and who wants political drama surrounding them and bringing all of this negativity. He should have done it outside of work. He gets what he deserves
-
Kneeling and/or not standing is my decision! Kaepernick is better than any QB...look at stats
-
One more thing. He can kneel all he wants sitting at home now

-
You think these young men will abide by this stupid rule? Some of these guys get $10 million a year guaranteed. You'll find most owners will eat the little fine they receive.
