Why not her mother? It's more appropriate for her mother to give her away than it is for a man she's only known a few months. Maybe the royals are sending a message to the world that they accept her and this union has their blessings?

Maybe her mother is uncomfortable doing this. There will be millions and millions of viewers. Perhaps she doesn’t like to be in the spotlight
-
That may be true too. I just hope the Royal family gave her mother the option.

Madness. What a message to send the world about the mindset of the Royals that it's acceptable for a modern woman to have her father-in-law stand in for her father. Her mother or sister would have been ideal substitutes.

I think it’s sweet!

How is it a bold feminist move to have the adulterer Prince Charles walk her down the aisle? A bold move would be to have her mother walk her down the aisle.
-
Maybe the bold feminist move is that it is HER CHOICE?

It's four in the morning. Pretty sure most Americans care more about sleep than about this wedding.

If she does't have a living Father, then a Brother of the Bride or even an uncle should traditionally take her down the isle. ((Weird)).
-
IDK if her Father is alive or not ... I was just wondering Why the Father of the Groom is walking her down the isle, instead of her own Father. That's All.
