Just because it's a tradition doesn't mean that it's good. The treatment of women as a possession of men ought to be consigned to history's dustbin along with any ritual that perpetuates such ideas.

Am so happy Prince Charles is doing this. What a wonderful man. A beautiful chance to give a beautiful girl away and experience what it's like to walk a daughter down the aisle on her wedding day. Kudos for taking charge Prince Charles.

I totally agree, I have criticised him in the past but on this he has done the right thing. She will always have that special bond with him after that.

YES. My husband and I both had both our parents walk us down the aisle when we were married. I saw it as them accompanying us on the first step of our new journey. In her case, it should be her mom walking with her.
