...This whole thing is ridiculoUS! I'm so tired of these idiots... Every single time someone signs in from Twitter, or Pinterest, or uses an aap, clicks on an article, takes a quiz, or ANY other damn thing.. A Permission statement comes up on the page, RIGHT THERE! It aint hard!

... Every single one of these senators and representatives are saying things like "I don't think the public fully understands", or "you have to make it simpler" ..You can't make it any fu¢king simpler than that!.. It's just NOT Zuckerberg's fault that people are stupid!!!
-
If you don't want ppl knowing you're a 50 year old female living in Wisconsin who likes U2 (they only know that because you told them) , then you shouldn't be on Facebook. What's wrong w everyone? They should just let you communicate w 200 million people around WORLD for free?

If we want regulations like Europe has, then it's up to Congress to pass regulations like what Europe has! It is not Mark Zuckerberg's job to create law. It's theirs... And he has never said he is against regulation. In fact he said the opposite. The insinuation disturbs me!

I think people also forget how relatively new social media is. There’s always a learning curve with new technology because it’s impossible to predict every problem. Has there ever been an app that didn’t have to update for “bug fixes”?
-
... I know, exacly ... Why don't people look at this stuff in context. I don't understand it. Critical thinking is lost..
-
Most people don't understand that bandwidth costs money... the technology that sends the data between networks costs money ... data centers cost money. Do we really want to pay for that out of pocket or let advertisers do their thing.

When my 17year old daughter knows I’m angry she’ll say “I’m sorry” before she even knows what I’m mad about. It’s a reflex, not a sincere apology!

Must be nice to be perfect and not make mistakes. These are Congress members telling him about all his mistakes over the years, correct? I mean really? Where do I start with them?

She read

A great example of how useful and needed good journalism is
-
So true.
@zeynep is the only one I read on this topic, her book was fantastic. Amazed at lazy networks that don’t have her on to speak and educate. She deals with the complexities

So we get to listen to these elected officials grandstand on this, FB is voluntary. If you want regulation DO YOUR JOB. Does our congress have nothing better to do. I am betting congress cannot do the job.
