It's a girl for Tammy Duckworth, the first US senator to give birth while in office. She says rules should be changed so she can bring her baby to votes. https://cnn.it/2uXMBRZ pic.twitter.com/FoKctx8VK0

So women can take kids to work but not the men? We should have “Navy Seals Take Family on Mission” day

Who said the men can't? I never said that. I think that would be awesome, useful, and practical. My Dad took me to work at both Airco Temescal and Perkin-Elmer ETEC in the 1970s. What's the problem?

Breastfeeding is a medical consideration that men don't need. There was *zero* problem w/ delaying a vote till John McCain was recovered enough to participate. She's not asking for a delay---she's asking for the ability to bring her baby w/ her, to breastfeed. MEDICAL ISSUE!

Why does she think her baby should be in chambers for votes. Millions of parents cannot bring their babies to their workplace for fear of distracting others from their work. So leave the baby in your office, go vote and go back to your office, and shut up

Reading these responses-my goodness! What’s so awful about a baby anyway! Half of these responses sound like she’s asking to bring plutonium to the Senate floor. Its for a couple minutes so she can cast her vote. She’s not asking Mitch McConnell to change its diapers.

Well then if it's only for a couple of minutes she can get a baby sitter fairly easy then with no inconvenience.

Baby's are disruptive in work environment for one. Would you like your heart surgeon watching his baby during work. I don't think so.

Please be civil & stop with the “I didn’t think so” business. Sen Duckworth will not be performing heart surgery. She will be reviewing bills in her office, then coming to the floor to cast a vote. I’m sure her 99 colleagues can deal with that for a few. She wants to do her job.

My experience with a pregnant wife [bought a house we didn't need due to "nesting instincts"] is that under no circumstance should a pregnant woman be making decision of national significance.
