When the abusive partner in a DV relationship has a gun, the female victim is 5Xs more likely to be murdered. 20% of DV homicide victims are someone other than the abused partner- such as a friend, a bystander or a law enforcement officer. 50% of mass shootings are DV incidents.
-
In 4 out of the 5 largest mass shootings in the U.S. (Las Vegas, Orlando, Virginia Tech, Texas) the killer had a recorded history of domestic violence and/or stalking. Domestic violence is the greatest threat to public safety in this country.

Wow that’s extreme
-
Domestic abuse is a violent crime. Violent criminals should not have guns. I think that this is not at all extreme, and that's coming from somebody who is a survivor of abuse.
-
Yeah now that I think of it I think a repeat offender should hand over all guns but anyway what does my opinion matter

Anyone who actually has a problem with this...is why this law is needed. Seriously, all you have to do is not be a violent abuser and your guns are perfectly safe. If you have been convicted of domestic violence, you are a violent person that should not own a gun. Period. Duh.

I agree. No brainer.

If it was a "no brainer,"" it would have been the law of the land many years ago. it

Good, now it needs to go nationwide.
-
Seriously, why would anyone want domestic abusers to have guns. Not everything is about politics, just common sense.

Waiting until conviction is too late. The guns should be taken away the moment a restraining order is imposed.
