One crash and a new law. One dog died and a new law. Many mass shootings and nothing. Jesus Christ have some logic

Wow look at this. A tragedy and an idea after an investigation to help. Hmmm

I think it's too soon to politicize this. Instead we should be making sure more people have access to helicopter crashes.

So a tragedy happens and within days something is changed? Unbelievable

Wait, what? What happened to the, 'it's much too soon to talk about laws to prevent deaths caused by ________!'

A couple people die in a single helo accident. The government (FAA) quickly changes the rules. 17 kids die in a mass shooting, yet we can’t get legislators to change the rules. Difference? The money and lobbyists.

Wait, what? This will only make it more difficult to egress an aircraft during an emergency. Can someone explain this logic to me?
-
I had the same thought as well, but I *think* having the doors on would make the copter sink far more slowly, giving people more time to get free of their harnesses before they end up under water and drowning.
-
But now that I look at your handle, I'll defer to your knowledge and experience.

-
I just had another thought.... the problem was that the passengers could not get out of their safety harnesses in time. Maybe the reason they were in complicated (for laypeople) harnesses rather than a simple lap belt was because it was "doors off". /1
-
So really, they're not banning the "doors off" so much as banning the complicated harnesses, which means they can't safely do "doors off", so it's effectively a ban on "doors off". /x

Yet there are still guns in school..ban helicopters with no doors..ban puppies in overhead lockers. . But heaven forbid banning guns..hypocritical.

mazel-tov! but why couldn't that have been included in the original design? why did it have to await fatalities because of its absence?

By changing the rules to no more “no door” flights, passengers won’t have to be harnessed and strapped to their seats as is protocol when flying with doors off and it was those harnesses that impeded the passengers from evacuating helicopter and drowning.

Don’t have to be on one to know why they died and what kind of safety precautions are taken in a helicopter ride
