I don’t think anyone is recommending ALL teachers be armed. No, not at all. But the ones who are willing, capable, proficient and have gone through the appropriate training should be given the option IMO
-
It would be a liability nightmare. Guns do NOT belong in schools.
#GunReformNow -
You're right. Let's continue to label them gun-free zones where the only person with a gun is the non-law-abiding psycho mowing them down. Very smart.
-
Or maybe we can regulate guns since they, you know, kill people and such.
-
Another good idea. You can kill another person with nearly anything. Let's regulate everything.
-
Who needs an assault weapon that can shoot hundreds of bullets in seconds? These are the types of guns that need to be removed from society. More guns will not make anyone safer.
#GunReformNow -
Here is the issue with your argument - you cannot remove these types of guns. We cannot keep drugs out of prisons; people who want these weapons will get their hands on them regardless. Disarming law-abiding citizens wanting the same weapons for self-defense doesn't make sense.
-
How do people not understand that the less guns that exist, the less that can be obtained illegally? It's simple math

I'm a Democrat. And I disagree with Marco on just about everything. But I've got to give him credit for showing up. Can't say that about the Florida governor.

Being armed enables you to return fire and not just be a target.
-
Shoot back with a pistol against a guy with an AR-15 and see how things work out. You ain’t Bruce Willis in Die Hard bro.
-
So have no ability to return fire, that is your position?
-
We go to school in America not Iraq.
-
I have no idea what your point is.
-
My point is our teachers shouldn’t have a gun since this isn’t a war zone
-
NYPD study shows that police firing at people only hit the intended target 18% of the time. You expect teachers to now become marksman? Or have easy access to guns yet prevent young kids from getting ahold of them.http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/09/weekinreview/09baker.html …

Another study shows police often hit bystanders - and teachers are supposed to be be better than police and not inadvertently shoot kids?http://nation.time.com/2013/09/16/ready-fire-aim-the-science-behind-police-shooting-bystanders/ …
