Rep. Ted Deutch: A lot of people have told this community that it's too soon to talk about getting weapons of war out of our communities. "It is not too soon, it is too late for the 17 lives that were lost." http://cnn.it/2CbVudw  #StudentsStandUphttp://snpy.tv/2EYArvG

Let’s cut the crap: there are NO WEAPONS of WAR being used in these shootings. They are a form of civilian hunting rifle built to look ‘military-ish’. They are not.

A majority of hunting rifles aren't chambered in 556. Assault Rifles are. 556 is a NATO standard military round. A more powerful round is used by most hunting rifles. Hence why most aren't chambered in 556. It's a weapon that is similar to those used in war, not a hunting rifle.

I’ve been using a 6mm Remington for deer hunting for 35 years. It’s a 0.244 caliber, just off the 0.243 caliber (or 5.56 mm) round you describe. There is NOTHING that makes 5.56 a Military round And therefore more dangerous than any 30 caliber hunting rifle

Used by most western militarys, the 5.56x46 NATO round finds itself chambered in most assault rifles. When this round, a NATO round, is chambered in a semiautomatic assault rifle, it becomes a weapon of war.

While that's a problem, that doesn't take away from the fact that he had the intention, and because of our gun laws, the capability to pull this off.

Unalienable rights. This country was founded on the natural laws that govern people. If you don’t like it, Canada is just North. Just a thought.
