These kids are on the right side of history. On gun reform, gay rights, equality and tolerance. Can’t wait for them to be old enough to vote and run for office!

Many early gun control legislation was passed in the 30s and 40s in response to mob violence and things like the st. Valentine’s Day masacre. The president of the United States was fucking assassinated in 1963. That brought the availability of weapons into sharp focus. 1/2

Even as early as 1969, the firearms commission determined 68% of homicides involved a gun. Lennon was killed with a gun. Regan wounded with a gun. This has been a persistent and pervasive problem that has culminated in wide spread mass murders with guns.
-
This whole yesteryear was better bullshit is just that, bullshit. It was bad then, and it’s worse now thanks to technology, wide spread availability, and lack of evolving gun legislation. But please go on about the idealistic 1950s, when when we had Jim Crow and housewives.

Good! I hope they demand that the schools adopt better security policies and add more armed personnel.
-
Better security policies, yes, but more armed personnel? Do we really want our kids to feel like they're entering a jail or military zone?
-
They could carry concealed so it wouldn't offend any of the students. But unfortunately these are the times we live in now.
-
By that logic we'd need armed guards outside of every amusement park, museum, grocery store and neighborhood playground. I don't buy it. Other countries are able to keep violence levels down without having an armed militia on every corner. Why can't we?

Don’t give me that Mental Iillness bologna!!!! Just think if he had an accomplice with him, just think
?! So they both would be mentally ill? Yes, (maybe) but that misses the entire point! Assault Weapons (of War) don’t belong in the hands of civilians! Point blank( NPI)

Here's my husbands argument: Americans have a Constitutional Right to the same weapons our military has. Bcuz citizens need an equal force against the government, should that need arise. Thoughts?
-
But he doesn’t see the need for military-level training or laws or policies or hierarchy or objectives or planning or missions or uniforms or body armor or teamwork or leadership. Just guns and enemies? Your husband seems cool.
-
Nahhh he just wants his guns & cross bow to put meat on the table. Also something to stand for I believe. It was his dad's stance, like father like son, yet his dad died well b4 AR15s so no one will really ever know.
-
Using a crossbow or rifle to traditionally hunt for food is one thing. Feeling the need to hoard military-grade assault weapons designed and marketed specifically to kill human beings just in case the military attacks him is, um, another.
-
Where's my nuke, then?
-
Don’t worry, at the rate we’re going in this country the NRA will get those out to stores in time for the midterms. I’m sure you’re a responsible nuke owner, there’s no reason for you not to pass a simple background check.
