Geddert was not her personal coach. He was the head coach on the floor for the 2012 Olympic team competition. Just for two days of competition. Aly’s coach Mihai Breystan is an upstanding citizen from everything she’s ever said about him.

My question is and I am sorry to ask this but "When did she know?"
-
Umm when she was a vulnerable, sexually abused child victim?
-
Correct me if I am wrong. She was a member of the 2012 team and returned in 2016 as an adult.
-
As with the majority of gymnasts who reach elite she has been visiting the ranch for camps since she was a pretty young kid. Victim blaming of children or adults has no place and holds no weight in these discussions.
-
I strongly disagree. If you know something like that is going on, you should refuse to participate. A parent should do something. I would
-
You should listen to victim impact statements. People usually trust doctors. These gymnasts were REPEATEDLY told Nassar was the best of the best. He was the National team doctor and a USOC doctor. He made them uncomfortable, but they believed it was legitimate medical treatment.
-
Once everything started coming out about it, they realized how wrong they had been. He did intravaginal treatments with no gloves, no lubricant, no adult supervision, so parental consent, no consultation with the patient.
-
As children, they trusted the adults who told them Nassar was the best. Nassar was also very good at manipulating gymnasts into trusting him. Also, multiple people did report him as far back as 1997! They were dismissed, told it was medical treatment, and that they misunderstood!

NO, CNN. They’re talking about John Geddart. Do your fucking research.

Geddert may have been appointed the "Olympic coach" of the team, but he was not Aly's personal coach. A little misleading. That being said, Geddert needs to be held accountable for sure.

Damnit
@CNN this is an egregious error. Do your research before you go around slandering someone like this. Geddert was a 2012 OLYMPIC TEAM coach, as many have pointed out. This is an irresponsible oversight.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Let this be a lesson to all future gymnasts: It's not enough to develop your body... learn common sense!! It wouldn't hurt to read a book now and again.

Excuse me????? I really hope you aren't implying that this is the fault of the gymnastics/victims. Because that is all kinds of wrongs.

You better hope he did now. If not, you just dragged his name and may have ruined him.
