It be nice if the story had a link to the actual stores that are closing.

Both Sears and Kodak had the inside track and just blew it. Sears catalogue was the Amazon of the first half of the 20th century.
-
In the early 90s, they also owned the Discovery Card, and owned stock on Compuserve, all of that before Amazon. They had all the infrastructure and none of the vision.

The breaking news here is that there were that many locations still open

yes but the economy is great!!! For the rich in the stock market. Macy also has made an announcement. I don't like where all this is heading. What's next? Grocery stores?
-
Grocery stores will never go away
-
Why not. Could have a warehouse where a bot puts together your cart after you place an online order and it gets delivered.
-
That logistics it would take with fresh produce and also people like the simplicity of a grocery store
-
I dont, but see alot of my neighbors getting groceries&goods delivered by SafeWay&Target. But I also live in a city,so may be thats the excuse, lol. I wanna see &pick my produce.
-
I don't eat green vegetables but I hear you; however people said the same thing yrs ago about going to Sears and seeing their microwave or whatever before buying.
-
Yeah do remember that but you have to remember the one big difference between the two is shelf life
