No one, will ever get me on a cruise ship! It's unsanitary and if something happens to you on one, it's almost impossible to get justice, especially if they're in international waters! Nope not having it!

And that’s why you’ll never get me on a cruise!
-
I’ve been cruising for two decades. I just came back from one last week. I’m in Haiti in my profile pic. 7 day Royal Caribbean Cruise. You people gotta stop letting things scare you. I could see you being scared if this happened all the time on cruises, but it doesn’t.
-
I’m sure it is a great and a unique experience compared to traditional holidays ...I get seasick though and just couldn’t imagine gastro on top of this!
-
My wife gets sea sick as well. But they sell over the counter medicine that can deal with that.
-
I haven’t found anything that has worked for me yet other than abstaining from boat trips. Wish there was a magic cure for motion sickness!

Isn't that also called food poisoning?
-
Not necessarily. On cruise ships, it's far more likely to be norovirus.
-
Norovirus is a food borne illness usually caused by someone not washing their hands after using the bathroom. It can't be killed by heat or freezing. In a confined area, it can spend very rapidly.

It can of course be present in food and drink, Susan, but also can be transmitted by simple human contact, and indeed can be airborne as well, if you're unlucky enough to be close to someone who is vomiting!

That sucks. Someone perhaps wasn't honest on the health questionnaire at the port about being sick. I've been on more than 10 cruises in 14 years and I've only ever gotten seasick in a bad storm. Royal has always been good about sanitation. They're one of my fave cruise lines.
-
I was happy with my experience cruising with them though and would still recommend them

Norovirus is spreading through a lot of land based communities right now as well. The difference? News media know you’ll click on a sick cruise ship story every god damn time they print it.
-
Well also you aren’t trapped on a floating puke buckets. There is no escape!!! It is a sci-fi horror movie
