If they can pass all the physical and mental evaluations what does it matter.

Yh... The same way female prisoners dont use their genitals in detention. The same way female footballers dont play with their genitals. If you have nothing to see grab a seat!

As well they should. There is no compelling reason to exclude transgender recruits from the military, and compelling reasons to let them join.

Fixed: The US military will be forced to let transgender individuals join ...

It should not matter with regards to how you identify in terms of gender, all that should matter is your love of country and will to serve.

I'm sure you'd enjoy saying that to my husband, who's put over seven years into the USAF and wants to do a full twenty. As someone who "supports" the armed forces, you have a strange way of showing it.
-
I'll say it then. No Trans people in the military.
-
On what grounds? Should they meet the physical and mental requirements, why bar them from service?
-
More research has to be done, but we can't give firearms to people with a mental disability, and according to the AMA and APA, Being Trans is a mental disorder. Since suicide is so hot button in the military, even an attempt will get you kicked out. It's sorta zero tolerance.
-
I can agree with that, but I also emphasize stronger stances on mental health. It'll give positive outcomes across the board. Yeah, it'll cost us a bit, but I would pay much higher taxes to ensure that all active duty and vets have what they need.
-
That's why there are such strict mental health requirements to join. You're thousands of miles from home, with 60 other people that you have to fully trust. Most of us don't trust people that have to be put on suicide watch. It kills morale, which can kill for real.
